A full recount in the Boyle Electoral Area has just got underway, involving the checking of almost 11,400 votes. The recount takes place following a request in the early hours of this morning from Fine Gael candidate Dympna Daly-Finn as the battle continues to fill the sixth and final seat. After the eight count early this morning, just three votes separated Daly-Flynn and her party colleague, outgoing councillor Liam Callaghan. The recount is expected to take several hours. The other 12 seats in the Roscommon and Athlone Local Electoral Areas have been filled.
