New analysis of Home Office data shows that police officers are six times more likely to use a stun device to defend themselves than a traditional police truncheon. The high-tech weapons can be deployed at a distance, increasing the safety for bobbies fighting crime on the streets. The same can be said for irritant spray, with officers now one and a half times more likely to favour using a Taser device for self-defence. “The new T10 offers a safer option for officers who find themselves in those dangerous situations.
