The Stars’ best regular-season record in seven years, Jason Robertson breaking the team scoring record, Miro Heiskanen breaking the club’s defenseman scoring record, goaltender Jake Oettinger going 37-11-11, the team finishing with the best goals differential in the Western Conference. ”We’ve given ourselves a chance to win,’’ coach Pete DeBoer said after the Stars closed the regular season with six straight victories. That won’t be a factor in the series, although maybe Mats Zuccarello, who had a nice Stars playoff moment or two in 2019, will be. But this season Dallas saw Heiskanen develop even further while breaking Sergei Zubov’s points record for a D-man. It’s the best time of the year.’’Twitter: @TimCowlishawFind more Stars coverage from The Dallas Morning News here.
