Fasil and Dire Dawa played a competitive first half that had everything except for goals, going into the break tied at 0-0. Mesfin Tafesse converted a 44th-minute penalty to give Ethiopia Coffee a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Mesfin Tafesse completed his brace in the 62nd minute, a goal that was enough to give Coffee the three points.
