The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, or FBCCI, has inspected the Karwan Bazar kitchen market in Dhaka, aiming to stabilise the prices of essential commodities, maintain supply chains, and curb market syndicates. The FBCCI’s market monitoring team, led by its administrator Md Hafizur Rahman, inspected the market on Sunday morning, according to a press release. After the market inspection, Hafizur urged retailers, wholesalers, and traders in a meeting to take greater responsibility for ensuring fair prices for essential goods. Md Omar Faruk, president of the Karwan Bazar Arat Business Multipurpose Cooperative Society, led the meeting and said businesses would continue to support FBCCI’s regular market monitoring initiatives. The prices of vegetables were also noted, with potatoes at Tk 55 per kg, eggplants at Tk 80 per kg, and green chillies priced between Tk 280 and Tk 300 per kg.
