Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) is putting up closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) at 10 illegal dumping spots. The installation is being done in phases, starting with Jalan Sijangkang Utama, Jalan Pelabuhan Utara, Jalan Bukit Kuda, Jalan Kebun Baru Perepat and Jalan Benteng. “Currently, we have 16 CCTVs to survey dumping sites while 165 other CCTVs are for monitoring public safety and road traffic.”Zaireezal said the city council was implementing two methods to stop illegal dumping. “The first method is to clear the site and instal warning signs immediately. “After that, a banner to warn people will be put up.”He said those caught dumping rubbish indiscriminately face compounds of up to RM1,000.
