Two off-seasons ago, Semien left the Jays to sign a seven-year deal worth $175 million (U.S.). As good as things have been going for Semien, they have been even better for the Rangers. This season, the Rangers are leading the West with a 42-26 record through Thursday, 3 1/2 games up on the Astros. For this group of Jays, Semien was leadership personified. Semien was already part of one turnaround with the Jays, but the one he’s experiencing with the Rangers appears to be going even better.
