George Floyd’s death prompted renewed scrutiny of excited delirium and its origins. The phrase “physiology of black women” ought to have set off alarms all over the place. Yeah, this swarm of dead black women whose bodies are littering the streets…nobody killed them. Williams is now believed to have killed at least 32 black women through asphyxiation. But the idea that excited delirium can give people near-superpowers has been incredibly harmful.
