The Adwa Victory Day is being celebrated in the capital Addis Ababa colorfully at the newly built Adwa Victory Memorial under the theme “Adwa is a Pride for All Black People.”Field Birhanu Jula, said, 128 years ago, Ethiopian stunned the whole world by decisively defeating the well-armed Italian invading force at battle of Adwa. The victory is our historical virtue and we are committed to maintain this virtue and turn it into more success, he noted. The Adwa Victory resulted from the unity, resilience and gallantry of Ethiopians, pledging readiness of the army to maintain the unity and sovereignty of the nation. Field Marshal Birhanu stressed the need for this generation to maintain the unity and solidarity shown by their forefathers in various ways. The anniversary is also being celebrated in all regional states, city administrations, institutions, embassies and consulates all over the world.
