CAIRO - 4 October 2023: The National Electoral Commission is set to begin receiving nomination papers for the 2024 presidential elections starting tomorrow, Thursday, and continuing daily until October 14th, including official holidays. In addition, candidates must provide a receipt confirming the payment of twenty thousand Egyptian pounds to the National Electoral Commission's treasury as security. Lastly, candidates must submit a statement indicating their chosen registered domicile for notification purposes regarding committee-related activities. The National Electoral Commission has set October 16th and 17th for the announcement and publication of the preliminary list of candidate names and their endorsers in the official newspaper. The acceptance of nomination papers marks a significant step in Egypt's democratic process, as the country prepares for the upcoming presidential elections in 2024.
