CAIRO – 15 July 2021: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Malaysian counterpart, Hishammuddin Hussein, discussed on Wednesday the preparations for the joint ministerial commission scheduled to be held in Kuala Lampur and the arrangements in this regard. This includes the first meeting for political consultations between senior officials of the two countries' foreign ministries to be held in Cairo, a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry read. The two ministers affirmed their keenness to enhance joint work and continue advancing the path of cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia in various fields. Trade exchange between Egypt and Malaysia amounted to about $503 million during 2020, Minister of Industry Nevine Gamea announced this month. The Malaysian minister lauded the efforts made by the Egyptian state to face extremism and terrorism domestically and regionally.
