In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Khaled Megahed said five patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,457. As many as 769 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 225,068 so far, the spokesman said. Egypt successfully is past a third wave of the pandemic, reporting daily coronavirus counts that are less than 100 for the first time since October last year.
