CAIRO – 27 May 2021: Egypt’s iconic actress Faten Hamama was born on May 27, 1931. Moreover, she was also well known for her marriage with another famous Egyptian movie star, the internationally renowned Omar al-Sharif. Egypt Today commemorates the birth anniversary of Faten Hamama by presenting six facts you may not know about the late iconic actress. 2- The Top 100 Egyptian Films list compiled by the Supreme Council of Culture in Cairo’s cinema committee contains 8 movies of Hamama. Between 1966 and 1971, Hamama lived outside of Egypt because she had refused to cooperate with the Egyptian Intelligence Agency.
