ENI Plans a Multi Well Campaign for Moza’s Coral North FLNG FeedstockItalian explorer ENI, will drill up to six wells, beginning from mid-2025, to access the feedstock for its planned Coral North Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project in the deep waters off Mozambique. Coral North FLNG is proposed to be a “twin” of Coral South FLNG, a 3.5Million Metric Tonnes per Annum (MMTPA) capacity facility that was brought on stream in Area 4 in Mozambique’s deepwater Rovuma Basin in late 2022. The vessel is expected to be constructed by JGC, Technip Energies and Samsung Heavy Industries, the same group that built Coral South FLNG. Final Investment Decision on Coral North FLNG is expected before the end of the 4th Quarter 2024 and the first cargo of gas is proposed to be shipped to export by end of 2027. What this means is that on completion, both Coral South and Coral North FLNGs, will have a combined capacity of 7MMTPA, monetising the 15Trillion Cubic Feet Coral field in Area 4.
