CAIRO, 30 May 2021: The Egyptian Football Association announced on Saturday, that Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron will be suspended for two matches and fined 70,000 pounds. Through their Twitter account, the EFA indicated that it had fined the French coach 20 thousand pounds for "unsportsmanlike behavior" and 50,000 pounds "for inciting his team to withdraw." Carteron's red card after storming the stadium to protest the referee, who dismissed Ashraf Bencharki, the Zamalek player, during the team's 1-0 victory overIsmaili on Thursday in Egypt's Cup 16th round. Bencharki was suspended for one match after receiving the red card, and his teammates Ferjani Sassi and Hamza Mathlouthi were suspended for a match due to obtaining the third yellow card against Ismaili. Thus, Bencharki, Sassi and Mathlouthi will be absent from the Zamalek meeting against their host El Gouna on Sunday in the 25th round of the league.
