An ambulance responding to an emergency was hit by a pickup truck — so the paramedics inside helped out after the crash, California officials said. A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance was responding to a call when a pickup truck T-boned it while crossing an intersection on Sept. 10, according to a post on Facebook by the fire department. The pickup truck had two men in it who ended up colliding with a pole, getting trapped in the wreck, officials said. The two paramedics inside the ambulance were able to get out of the crashed vehicle and started to give medical attention to the “two severely injured” men, fire officials said. The two men were taken to a trauma center in critical condition while the paramedics were taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the post said.
