Willis is prosecuting Trump for alleged election interference after the 2020 presidential election. Defense attorneys are attempting to disqualify Willis because of her relationship with Nathan Wade, the attorney she hired as the case's lead prosecutor. Trump has maintained his innocence in the Georgia case, pleading not guilty to all charges. Willis admitted to having a personal relationship with Wade, but says this does not preclude her from prosecuting Trump and the other 18 defendants.
