Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has directed doctors to remain at their designated posts following transfers. He gave the instruction during a ceremony marking the handover of the Health Reform Commission’s report at the state guest house, Jamuna on Monday. “One of the major problems is the shortage of doctors,” said Yunus. This issue must be resolved for good.”Stressing the need for a decentralised healthcare system, he added, “Without decentralisation, these problems cannot be resolved. Doctors must be present at their assigned posts.”The report was formally handed over to the chief advisor by the commission, led by National Professor AK Azad Khan.
