Dhaka University Prof Mohammad Jahangir Alam of the Department of World Religions and Culture has died due to heart-related complications at China’s Kunming Changshui International Airport. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, acting director of the Dhaka University Public Relations Office, confirmed the news in a statement on Friday. On his way back from the conference, Jahangir was afflicted by heart-related complications at the Chinese airport on Jul 23. The Dhaka University administration has expressed condolences at the sudden death of the professor. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Sayema Haque Bidisha, who is also assigned the routine duties of the vice chancellor of the university, said: “Prof Jahangir Alam was a was a humble, good-natured and decent person.
