A delegation from the Southeast Nebraska Development District spoke to the Gage County Board of Supervisors at its Tuesday meeting to update the board on building and broadband projects in the district. Tom Bliss, executive director of SENDD, said the district was able to raise $6.12 million from grants or other activities to help communities in Gage County complete projects. Oliver Borchers-Williams, the district's director of broadband, then told the board about $405 million of grants that will be distributed for broadband equity access and deployment efforts. Board Chairman Erich Tiemann praised SENDD as "the only development district early on that had a broadband team" and for all its work in the district. The county is working with the city to hopefully do it on Wednesday, when the courthouse would be closed for Juneteenth.
