In the second incident, the 42-year-old male DCI officer who is based in Nairobi, was also attacked by the same gang as he was walking home. DCI officers in Kisumu West subcounty are investigating the matter as the four suspects are still at large, police said. This forced the officer who was armed then to shoot into the air to scare the group. Other police officers rushed to the scene to save him from the rowdy group and rushed him to hospital. His pistol was taken to safety as a hunt for the group started, police said.
