State Minister for public administration Abdul Bari -Photo: CollectedDHAKA, April 1, 2026 (BSS) – State Minister for public administration Abdul Bari today said the country has a total of 14,50,891 government employees and 4,68,220 posts remain vacant while giving the latest government service position of the country. The second-class employees are 2,33,726 from grade 10 to 12 while the vacant posts are 1,29,166. The third class employees are 6,13,835 from 13th to 16th grade while the vacant posts are 1,46,799. Regarding the dateline to fulfill the current vacant posts in the government services, Bari said fulfill the vacant government post is a ongoing process, adding that the present government has taken a 180-days programme and all the ministries and departments have taken a plan to fulfill the vacant posts. The last government pay scale was formed in 2015 while there was no pay scale in the last eleven years, said the lawmaker.
