A container crane caught on fire at Kwai Chung Tuesday morning and there were no reports of injuries. Around 8 am today, a cargo crane that was hanging 22 meters off the ground suddenly caught fire at Kwai Chung Container Terminal VII. The firefighters were alerted, deploying a ladder-mounted firetruck and a breathing apparatus team to extinguish the fire at 8.37 am. There was no need for evacuation, and no injuries were reported. The firefighter preliminarily determined that the fire was sparked by the burn in the wires and that no foul play was suspected.
