He said that such an understanding would cut across the political divide by prioritising the needs of the rakyat and nation. “Cabinet members have agreed by way of consensus that the government must invite the Opposition to be with us as we need to prioritise the rakyat and nation,” he said. Annuar said the approach taken by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob would also lead to more mature politics. “This government places the rakyat as the main priority and is firm in setting aside politicking for the welfare of all, irrespective of political understanding,” he said. On Aug 25, Ismail Sabri and Pakatan Harapan leaders arrived at a consensus to work together in dealing with the pandemic.
