Chick-fil-A faces calls for boycotts over Diversity, Equity and Inclusion VP

Conservative commentator Joey Mannarino recently took aim at Chick-fil-A for its appointment of a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) VP. Though DEI VP Erick McReynolds has held the position since 2021, critics like Mannarino have sparked renewed interest in the appointment. The conservative commentator conducted a poll with more than 110,000 submissions asking followers whether to boycott Chick-fil-A, with 53% voting no. Mannarino called on his followers to participate in “Boycott Month” targeting brands that prioritise DEI initiatives. Calls for boycotts again came to the fore in 2019 when Chick-fil-A expanded to Toronto.
