Chattogram City Mayor Shahadat Hossain has said the city has been cleared of waste from Eid-ul-Azha animal sacrifices by 6pm. On Friday, he said about 10,000 tonnes of waste were removed from the city, reports bdnews24.com. “Since 8am, 4,200 workers operating 369 vehicles including dump trucks, compactors, and pay loaders have been collecting waste around the neighbourhoods. All sacrificial waste in the city was removed by 6pm.”He also said if waste is spotted anywhere and reported to the Dampara control room, the authorities are taking prompt action to remove it. “Many also sacrifice animals the day after Eid, and we will also take care of the waste produced then.”The mayor requested citizens to report waste spotted anywhere in the city after 8pm to the control room by dialling: 02333389122, 02333389121 or 01894-883005, 01811-803666, 01761-426371.
