Rogers Communications Inc. has announced the activation of 5G service for all transit riders in Toronto’s downtown subway system. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow expressed her happiness over the availability of cell service in the subway in many areas of the city. She also stated her commitment to expanding the service to cover the entire TTC subway system. In April, Rogers acquired the cellular network in the TTC subway system from the previous operator, BAI Canada. With the activation of 5G service, subway riders in downtown Toronto can now enjoy seamless connectivity while traveling underground.
