OTTAWA — Canadians stranded in Israel say they feel like they have been left to fend for themselves in a war zone and are frustrated by the lack of support from Ottawa. Antonella, a Canadian who lives in Israel’s north, told the National Post the attacks have paralyzed everyday life in the country. “As a Canadian citizen, I an extremely disappointed in the Canadian government for its lack of support,” she said. In a statement Sunday, Global Affairs said that officials in Israel are in contact with local authorities. Cooper said that his understanding from Global Affairs Canada was that evacuation flights are only considered if all other means of transport are cut off.
