Camp Invite Mianscum an Interesting Red Wings Prospect

Of all the free agents getting invitations to play for the Detroit Red Wings in this month’s NHL Rookie Tournament, forward Israel Mianscum just may be the most curiously interesting prospect. From the Cree community of Mistissini in northern Quebec, left-winger Mianscum was an attendee at Detroit’s summer development camp. “It was very fun, I had a good experience,” Mianscum told Celina Wapachee of CBC.ca. Last summer, Mianscum was in attendance at the development camp of the Montreal Canadiens. “He is one of the players I’ve seen progress the most in my coaching career in Sherbrooke,” Julien told CBC.ca.
