Cameroon captain Benjamin Moukadjo scored from a superb free kick after Jacques Zoua was fouled on the edge of the penalty box. The West Africans pressed forward in search of the equalizer and came close on few occasions. Center-back Issoufou Dayo finally got the equalizer for Burkina Faso after heading in from close range following a free kick from substitute Banou Diawara. The results keeps the Group open after host Gabon and Guinea Bissau also drew 1-1 in the opening game.
