Californians appear poised to pass Proposition 4, a $10 billion climate bond to help the state prepare and adapt for the impacts of climate change. Nearly 58% of early votes favored the bond compared to 42% against the measure, but the Associated Press had yet to call the race Tuesday night. Proponents of the environmental bond, including Gov. Environmental groups who pushed for the bond were optimistic Tuesday evening after lobbying for the bond for nearly two years. “We remain hopeful that Californians’ commitment to climate resilience will ultimately prevail,” said Mike Young, senior political and organizing director with California Environmental Voters.
