Egypt’s Health Ministry on Monday confirmed 175 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total number of confirmed cases up to 282,257. The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 16,284 nationwide, after the ministry announced 20 deaths. And 765 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising Egypt’s total number of fully-recovered cases to 214,852. A country-wide partial lockdown aimed at curbing cases that has been in place since May 6 ended on Tuesday. Egypt is currently using China’s Sinopharm vaccine and the UK’s AstraOxford vaccine, and it has plans to soon begin locally manufacturing China’s Sinovac vaccine and Russia’s Sputnik-V.
