Idrissa Nassa, the President of Coris Bank Group, one of Burkina Faso’s successful companies, has been elected new President of Le Conseil National du Patronat Burkinabe (CNPB), the country’s private employers’ council. The 59-year business tycoon beat rival and incumbent council’s President Apollinaire Compaoré, founder of Planor Afrique Group by 119 votes against 54. He received the backing of several other successful business figures including cement tycoon Inoussa Kanazoé (CIM Metal Group) and Moussa Kouanda founder of GCM Industries. His holding, founded in 2008, is present in the financial industry and several other sectors both in Burkina Faso and in West African region. The company controls 20 per cent of banking sector of Burkina Faso.
