The new operation will target the energy and infrastructure markets in France and French-speaking African jurisdictions. Houston-headquartered law firm Bracewell has poached a team of lawyers from rival Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) to lead its new office in Paris as it boosts its Francophone Africa capabilities. The Paris outfit will cover project development, finance transactions, and mergers and acquisitions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, which are key areas of focus for the firm. In May Bracewell advised Rhino Resources on its agreement with Azule Energy to explore sites in Namibia’s Orange Basin.
