The organisers behind Belfast’s Christmas Market have confirmed the official opening date of the annual festive fixture later this month. The market – on the grounds of the city hall – will officially open on Saturday November 16. Those looking for some festive food or gifts for the family will be able to enter the market from noon that day when gates open. This year will mark their 20-year anniversary after first coming to the city in 2004, with over 100 chalets offering various Christmas treats. To celebrate the milestone organisers have also said this year’s market will have a “Dickensian” theme with characters from classic Victorian tales appearing at the market on various weekends throughout the month.
