In an ignominious reversal, the striking neo-medieval sculpture was usurped by a cartoon figure of a bearded man in blue shorts and sandals. This was Billy Bob, Corwen’s little giant and talisman of a long-established cafe a few yards away. In a patriotic twist, Billy Bob was cloaked in a Welsh flag to remind everyone of Corwen’s historic prominence. “So now we’re having the entire stature re-polished.”In good weather, Billy Bob appears outside the Yum Yums Cafe just across the road. “My grandchildren called the Lego man Billy Bob,” said Chris.
