Swansea University was named Runner-up Welsh University of the Year. Bangor University was the highest-ranking from North Wales, placing 59th in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026 (4th best in Wales). The North Wales university has around 12,000 students and 650 teaching staff, according to the World University Rankings website, and offers more than 300 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate programmes across five colleges. Wrexham University ranked outside the top 100 (122) in The Times' guide, making it the lowest-rated university in Wales.
