Negotiations and consultations are ongoing between Bangladesh and the United States to finalise an agreement on reciprocal tariffs. National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman headed the Bangladesh contingent in the negotiations, while US Assistant Trade Representative Brendan Lynch led the US delegation. A 37 percent additional tariff was levied on Bangladeshi exports. However, on Apr 9, Trump suspended this additional tariff for three months, a period that is set to expire on Jul 8. During this time, a minimum of 10 percent additional tariff has already been implemented on products from other countries.
