DHAKA, Oct 14, 2024 (BSS)- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized Indian goods, including clothes and Jira worth about Taka 3.45 crore from Lalmonirhat and Mymensingh frontiers. The BGB personnel seized 1,466 pieces of Indian sarees, 1,000 pieces of pants and 1,479 pieces of Punjabis worth about Tk three crore from a covered cargo van at Teesta Toll Plaza in Lalmonirhat district, a BGB press release said. The BGB troops followed the covered van (Dhaka Metro-T-14-2266) of Karatoa Courier Service from Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram district which was carrying Indian illegal smuggled goods to Dhaka last night, it said. Later, the BGB patrol team intercepted the car when it reached Teesta Toll Plaza. In another drive at Dhobaura border areas, the BGB members seized 2130 kgs of Indian Jira worth about Taka 25.56 lakh.
