Russia is a key ally of Kazakhstan, and the war in Ukraine has left the former Soviet country in an awkward spot. Antonio Guterres opened the General Assembly by touting Ukraine and Russia's deal — with the help of Turkey — over grain shipments as an example of successful multilateral diplomacy.
