We seek candidates with expertise in the field of American Studies, and are especially interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in gender, race, environmental studies, and/or American relations with the world, broadly construed. Candidates with a PhD in American Studies are preferred, but we will consider applicants from other disciplines, including but not limited to history, sociology, anthropology, and literature. Experience in developing and/or managing graduate programs in American Studies is highly desirable, but not required. Faculty at Georgetown University in Qatar are eligible to apply for GU-Q Faculty Research Funds and the Qatar National Research Fund’s Qatar Academic Research Grant and National Research Program. Applicants should provide a cover letter detailing teaching and research interests, curriculum vitae, and the names of three scholarly references.
