File: The pair statue of Tjay and Naya. The pair statue of Tjay and Naya is a great example of “couple statues” from Dynasty 18 (New Kingdom Period). It represents the seated Tjay and his wife Naya, wearing fine clothes and elaborate wigs. Naya’s right hand is affectionately placed on her husband’s shoulder. The back of the statue contains reliefs of the couple sitting in front of an offering table.
