He was born in Chatham, ON, but made Nova Scotia home for the majority of his life. He moved to Nova Scotia to work for the Department of Development, where he met his wife of 29 years Catherine "Cathy" Olna Ball. He is survived by son, Michael; daughter, Suzanne; and son, David (Sherri). He is also survived by his grandchildren, the light of his life: Katie, Meghan and Joshua. As per his wishes there will be no funeral but a private celebration of life at a later date.
