Cumbria Police Roads Policing Unit officers stopped a car on the A590 near Haverthwaite on Wednesday night. On both occasions he was found to be more than double the legal alcohol limit. Suspecting he may be driving whilst over the limit again, officers conducted a roadside breath test which returned a reading of 121 – the legal limit being 35. Faulkner was charged with drink driving, disqualified driving and driving without insurance. In addition, Cumbria Police said its Roads Policing Unit is 'targeting dangerous drivers every day of the year', across the county.
