About 3,000 nude swimmers plunged into the Derwent River in Hobart on Friday to mark the winter solstice. It was about 6C in the air and 12C in the water as red flares were fired at dawn to start the event, which is part of the Dark Mofo festival. The free swim, which started with just a few hundred participants in 2013, expanded from 2,000 to 3,000 in 2024 and booked out in days
