MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday said it will tap over 800 police officers to assist in the search and rescue operations as Super Typhoon Mawar approaches. ADVERTISEMENT“Our countrymen could count on the police who are prepared to respond and help in times of need,” Okubo said in a statement. “However, let us be ready and alert so we can be sure of our family’s safety,” he added. Okubo said the NCRPO has also prepared food packs, medicine and water to be distributed to evacuees. Super typhoon Mawar is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) early Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
