HYDERABAD - Police in its continued drive against mainpuri dealers on Wednesday arrested two suspects and recovered mainpuri and gutka from their possession. ASP Alina Rajper along with his team conducted raids in the limits of Sakhi Peer and City police station. DSP Muhammad Rahim Chandio along with Inspector Abdul Karim Abbasi conducted a raid in the limits of Sakhi Pir near Mirchi Chowk and arrested two accused Hussain alias Bhori & Yasin alias Sonu and recovered 550 packets of mainpuri while their other accomplices managed to escape. Police registered cases against arrested and absconders under mainpuri act. Meanwhile, DSP Masood Iqbal along with SHO Sub Inspector Muzafar Ali Khalidi conducted a raid near the Gol Building furniture market and arrested mainpuri supplier Faizan Shaikh and seized 50 packets of mainpuri and 100 packets of Indian gutka from their possession and a registered case under mainpuri act.
NEW DELHI -At least 17 labourers working on a railway bridge being built across a ravine in India’s eastern Mizoram state were killed when it collapsed on Wednesday, officials said, with others reported missing. Video footage posted by Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga showed a metal frame that had toppled off towering columns into a wooded valley below. “Under construction railway over bridge at Sairang, near Aizawl collapsed today; at least 17 workers died,” Zoramthanga, who uses only one name, said on X, formerly known as Twitter. The Indian Express newspaper quoted a policeman as saying that 17 bodies had been recovered and “many others” were missing. “Rescue operations are underway and all possible assistance is being given to those affected,” the office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

An army SSG commando engages in a cable car rescue operation while being suspended from a helicopter in Battagram. Initially, an army helicopter was dispatched to expedite the rescue operation, followed by a second helicopter shortly afterwards. The helicopter rescue mission was complicated by gusty winds in the area. As it became dark, flood lights were installed and a ground-based rescue operation was continued more than 15 hours. Bilal Faizi, the spokesperson for the emergency service Rescue 1122 said that the rescue operation was completed.

It currently makes up a quarter of the global economy, accounting for a fifth of global trade, and is home to more than 40% of the world’s population. Putin also said the BRICS countries are ahead of the G-7 in terms of purchasing power parity, which is forecast for 2023 at 31.5% against 30%. He further said that over the last decade, mutual investments among the BRICS countries have increased sixfold.
