HARPER, Maryland County – In Harper, the Reading Room serves 2 schools, the G.T. Established in the early 1920s, the George Tubman Brewer was built by the first Superintendent of Harper, Joseph Gibson. Congo Town – Private security guards at the Unity Party headquarters where Senator Abraham Darius Dillon is expected to climax his political campaign have arrested a man identified as Patrick Ballah in possession of a single barrel gun and several rounds. He was booked by a female security guard at the entrance while trying to make his into the compound. Monrovia – President George M. Weah has strongly condemned a reported act of political violence which took place in Porkpar District, Grand Cape Mount County, ahead of Tuesday’s Senatorial elections. The President said the government will not condone such violent action by any group of citizens and political party. He was refering to reports that a convoy belonging to the opposition CPP Senatorial candidate in Grand Cape Mount County, Simeon Taylor, came under attack and two of his vehicles set ablaze after a tussle ensued between rival supporters of political parties. President Weah emphasized that elections are about the exercise of people’s democratic rights and should be void of any kind of violence. MONROVIA – FrontPageAfrica has gathered that the campaign convoy of Mr. Simeon Taylor, the opposition Collaborating Political Parties candidate for the senatorial election has been set ablaze in Grand Cape Mount County. According to sources, Mr. Taylor’s campaign was invaded allegedly by some supporters of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) which resulted into a tussle between supporters of the two political parties and led to the burning of Mr. Taylor’s vehicles. According to reports, Rep. Bob Sheriff of the district, who attempted calming the situation house was also set ablaze. FrontPageAfrica has not been able to ascertain the status of Mr. Taylor yet. ALIEU KOSIAH: “I am a founding member of Ulimo,” an emotional Kosiah told the court under grilling by lawyers for the victims who brought the case. Kosiah told the three-judge panel presiding over the case that Ulimo was formed out of late President Samuel K. Doe’s Armed Forces of Liberia. Victims lawyers’ had requested the court postpone the trial to a later date when the victims and witnesses could be present in the court. Additionally, the judging panel rejected the plaintiff’s lawyer’s request to expand Kosiah’s crimes to crimes against humanity in addition to war crimes.
