Refusing to let the matter rest, Agak bundled both carcasses into a bag and headed to the station. KWS officials also visited Osore and promised to compensate him and support his farming.

Miniature national flags of Eritrea (left) and Ethiopia. [AFP]The histories of Eritrea and Ethiopia have long been closely intertwined. Once part of Ethiopia, Eritrea launched an armed struggle for independence in 1961 that resulted in its secession in 1993 following a referendum. But since Eritrea’s independence, relations between the two countries have evolved through many ups and downs, which include a devastating war from 1998 to 2000, followed by two decades of mutual isolation.

[AFP]The UN General Assembly voiced support for Ukraine Tuesday on the fourth anniversary of Russia's invasion, with the United States among countries abstaining from the vote. The US delegation had pressed for a separate vote on paragraphs involving Ukraine's territorial integrity and international law but this idea was rejected. The transition from Joe Biden to Donald Trump in the White House last year has seen firm, unconditional US support for Ukraine cool dramatically. "Despite peace efforts led by the US and supported by Europe, Russia continues to demonstrate no genuine willingness to stop this aggression," Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa said. Russia's deputy ambassador Anna Evstigneeva answered, saying Ukraine should focus on diplomacy to end the war "rather than initiating yet another politicized vote."

Kotoka International Airport will now be known as Accra International Airport, its original name. The authorities have assured the public that the name change will not affect airport operations, safety standards or international travel. In the build up to the 1966 coup, Nkrumah had faced criticism that he was becoming increasingly oppressive. As well as leading Ghana to independence in 1957, Nkrumah was seen as a visionary in the pan-African liberation movement.
