's Shuswap Valley have warned there could be a public safety risk after a 66-year-old woman was found dead at a mobile home park on Wednesday. Sicamous RCMP say they were called to assist paramedics providing medical assistance to the woman, who was found unresponsive in a driveway at the park early Wednesday. James Grandy of the RCMP said in a release that investigators believe there could be a potential public safety risk. Therefore, police will also be implementing additional measures within our authority in an effort to mitigate public safety concerns. Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning alongside the heat warning that has been in place for much of the week. According to the agency, a line of severe thunderstorms is located from LaSalle to east of Arkwood and is nearly stationary. "Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads," Environment Canada warns. Temperatures have soared to 34 C in Windsor-Essex this week, as the region is under a "heat dome."
